Acadian Health recognized Jacksonville Community Paramedic and Project Lead Cathy Denton as its 2025 Employee of the Year. She was presented with her award by Acadian Health Senior Director Jeremy Coombs at Acadian Companies’ recent meeting and awards ceremony, held in Lafayette, LA.
Denton was nominated for the award by her colleagues. She has been part of the Acadian Health team in Jacksonville, FL, since November 2023. Her career in healthcare began when she was a teenager, working in a doctor’s office and as a phlebotomist before pursuing EMS. She has served in 911 systems and private, not-for-profit EMS services, always grounded in her belief in delivering high-quality patient care and treating patients and their families the way she would want her own loved ones to be treated
“Cathy’s passion extends far beyond the clinical scope. As a project lead in Jacksonville, she continues to make a lasting impact, not only through patient care, but also through her unwavering support of her team,” Coombs said. “Throughout her career, she has taught EMTs and paramedics, served as a field training officer, and consistently poured her heart into mentoring others. Cathy deeply values the “why” behind medicine and strives to pass that purpose along to every provider she works with. In her current role, she treasures the opportunity to spend meaningful time with patients, educate them, and witness the outcomes of care—all while consistently looking out for her team’s well-being and leading with empathy and strength.”
